Getting ready for a wedding is usually a time of both excitement and stress, but for one woman, it turns into a time of deep shock and uncertainty. As she worked hard to get ready for her wedding, she overheard her fiancé and his mother having a private conversation. What they said made her feel uneasy about her future. She felt completely caught off guard and didn’t know who to trust, so she turned to the Internet for help and advice to get through this sudden chaos.
In her letter, she said:
“Hey,
David, I’m Pamela, and I’m going to marry Richard. I loved him very much. But a shocking discovery a week before the wedding has made me think again about everything.
I always did my best to make Richard happy because he meant a lot to me. As we prepared for our wedding over the last six months, I had a special surprise for him: I’ve been learning French in secret so that I can say my vows to him in his native language, French. I hope that by honoring his heritage, I can deepen our relationship.
But last night, just one week before our big day, things changed. My fiancé got a call from his mom while I was still awake and closed my eyes. They started talking in French. When I heard him say, “Listen carefully, Mom,” my heart almost stopped. I’m going to wait it out! You know very well that I would NEVER settle for a woman like her! I KNOW she’s not the woman you want for me, and you’re right! But, Mom, her parents have a lot of money. After we get married, I’ll be able to use their money, and I’ll carefully get ready for the next step, which is to file for divorce. Have faith in your son! I’m not going to lie to you.
I said I was asleep because I didn’t know what to think about what I heard or how to face him. I tried to sleep all night but couldn’t. I’m not sure what to do next. Everything is set for our wedding in seven days. Every invite has already been sent to our guests. Please help me figure out what to do next; I have no idea what to do.
Sincerely, “Pamela”
