When bad things happen, they can force us to make decisions that we didn’t expect to make that change everything. The son of one guy really wanted to travel all over the world, but life had other ideas. He chose to travel in honor of his son with the college fund. His wife now wants to split up with him.
He told us his story:
“I put money aside for years to pay for my son’s college.” He did well on all of his tests and was getting ready to apply to several colleges.
He passed away a week ago, and we were all very sad. I thought about how my son had always wanted to see the world and go to different countries. Because of this, I chose to travel in honor of his life with the money I had saved for his education.
My wife told me I was selfish and mean when she found out. That I used “honoring our son’s life” as an excuse to go partying in another country, she said. I might not have been smart to ask her to come with me. She was very angry and upset.
I’m in a different country now, but she texted me to say she wanted to get a divorce. What should I do?”
