A Sweet Surprise! Cute Doggo Rescued From Shipping Container

While conducting standard inspections on shipping containers at a port in Texas earlier, a U.S. Coast Guard crew noticed strange noises coming from one of the sealed containers: clawing and barking.

When the crew opened it, they found a dog. Despite being underweight and fearful, she was astonishingly still alive.

The puppy was given food and water by the Coast Guard personnel, who named her Connie the Shipping Container Dog. The dog was thought to have been imprisoned in the container for at least eight days, however it’s still unclear exactly how she got there.

Connie was afterwards given to the care of a nearby animal sanctuary.

The charitable organization Forever Changed Animal Rescue, based in the Washington, D.C. region, was formed by veterinarian Andrea Deoudes, who subsequently adopted Connie the Shipping Container Dog.

Connie was transported to her new residence via a private airplane by Pilots N Paws volunteers.

Connie was discovered to be dealing with more difficulties, despite the fact that she had demonstrated her survival by enduring the numerous days she had been imprisoned inside the container. She tested positive for heartworms, a condition that necessitates continuous care.

However, there was still another, even more delightful surprise: Connie is expecting a child.

As it turned out, while Connie struggled to survive within the shipping container, she had more on her mind than just herself. She is now on the road to rehabilitation with her unborn child in mind, and she is pregnant.

“She’s doing pretty good!” Deoudes revealed to The Dodo. She has, as you may expect, been relaxing and lazing a lot since arriving on Tuesday night. She is enjoying having access to lots of water and frequent meals.

After her adventure, Connie was emaciated, but she is expected to recover fully. But because of the adversity, her pregnancy is regarded as dangerous. She won’t have to deal with it alone, though.

Given that she is pregnant and severely underweight, Deoudes stated, “We’re working on putting some weight on her.” “She is with me right now, and this is where we want her to stay while she is pregnant.”

Hopefully, Connie the Shipping Container Dog will keep getting stronger and eventually give birth to a healthy litter of puppies. Deoudes advises anyone who has been moved by Connie’s tale to think about providing a home to other dogs in need like her in the interim.
