When we want a rush of thrills and suspense, we watch Hollywood thrillers. Real life, on the other hand, can be even more interesting, scary, and strange than fiction. The events in this collection really happened. They remind us that life is exciting because it can surprise us when we least expect it.
A scared woman in her 60s called 911 and said she heard footsteps upstairs and she lives alone. Her door was open when the police showed up. They found her sitting still and not blinking or moving. There were no clues that someone had broken in.
One police officer did see that she was smiling, though. When he started to question her, he finally got that the woman didn’t feel unsafe in her own home. She was just lonely and didn’t have anyone to visit her. She longed for human company. She could only think of one thing to do: make up this lie to get attention.
Even though what she did was wrong, the police knew how lonely she was and made sure that this woman was visited once a week to check on her and keep her company.
Every time I get hiccups, my boyfriend can stop them right away by touching my chest. I can’t stop them if he’s not here. We were together for two years. The only time it didn’t work was when he was really mad at me… I have no idea how to explain it. From Echojhawke on Reddit
In my house, my room is right next to the bathroom. Well, I was lying in bed one night a few years ago and looked over to the bathroom. The shower curtain had come loose on its own and was falling to the floor. I don’t know how it got unhooked because those rings are so hard to take off by hand. From magichobo3 on Reddit
We all stayed at a friend’s lake cabin one night. We were going to bed after a night of partying. There were about 7 or 8 of us. All of a sudden, one after another, the light bulbs began to break or spark. It was so creepy that we all decided to leave right away. [hairofbrown] on Reddit
The hair dryer turned on for about 30 seconds and then off while my brother and I were home by ourselves. Five times, this happened. It was strange that the dryer wasn’t plugged in and no one was in the bathroom. Not a known author/Reddit
My dad, sister, and I all saw something that wasn’t a person or an animal. It was in the winter of 2015 in a small town in Saskatchewan. It ran out in front of us on the road while we were driving.
It moved so quickly that it looked like a dark blur, but everyone agrees that it had long, thin limbs like a deer. But its “arms” and “legs” looked like those of a person. We still talk about it now. From doometteowo on Reddit
