The day of the wedding is important because it marks the beginning of a new life together. This was Thomas’s bride’s plan for their wedding night, but what she thought would be a nice surprise turned out to be something bad, making him have to leave her. He wrote to us asking for help because he is still in pain.

This is Thomas’s letter.

“My wife Nancy slowly whispered, “Close your eyes. I have a surprise that will forever mark this day.” when we got to our hotel room for our first night as a married couple.
As soon as I did that, three knocks on the door woke me up. I was shocked to see my mother standing in front of me when I opened my eyes. “What is this woman doing here, Nancy?” I yelled.

To give you some background, when I was 11, my mom left my dad and me for a rich man who would take better care of her.

She hadn’t talked to me in over twenty years. Since she found out that I’ve been doing well financially, she’s been trying to get in touch with me. I told her I didn’t want to see her again. The whole story is known to Nancy.

It really made me mad to see my mom at my wedding night. Cindy told me to forget about the bad things from the past since we are starting a new life together. I told her this was a weird surprise and that I couldn’t just forget about the past.

And I told her I couldn’t and wouldn’t spend the rest of my life with someone who wouldn’t respect my choices. Then I left.

I’m still mad today. Am I reacting too much?
