Emily has a tough choice to make. Her sister, who she says has caused trouble in the family, has come back to ask for her share of the inheritance even though she was not allowed to before. Emily has mixed feelings and doesn’t know what to do next. She reached out to us for help.

This is Emily’s letter:

“When my sister ran away with a guy who worked for us and stole from our business, I got her share of the inheritance.” Because of it, my dad had a heart attack and died. I swore I would never forgive her.

My sister called me and said she needed “her” money. She said that her son is very sick and that they need the money for his expensive treatments.

I told her, “Getting a divorce is the only way to get that money.” She broke down in tears and told me I was cold-hearted and that I was going to hurt her family.

I’m lost on what to do next. We would really appreciate your help.
